stimming (self stimulatory behaviour)
The repetition of physical movements, sounds, words, and other behaviours. It is often associated with autism but can be a trait of other neurodivergent conditions. For many neurodivergent individuals, stimming is vital for the regulation of our nervous systems.
fun fact: everyone on the planet stims as a way to process emotions. Just the difference is, it may be short-lived and less noticeable.
